Harris Dental offers a safe, warm and friendly environment, and our team members are dedicated to providing you with a positive experience.
Every new patient has an opportunity to speak with a dentist, who will assess your needs and concerns.
Once the best treatment plan for you has been compiled, we’ll get you scheduled for the necessary appointments.
General Payment Information
We ask for full payment on the day of your treatment. In some cases, a deposit will be requested, usually for more complex treatment. You will be notified in advance when this applies. Where possible we will advise you of the anticipated costs for an emergency treatment.
Generally, your dentist will discuss fees with you prior to commencing treatment. Our receptionists can also provide you with some information regarding fees, however, they are not able to give an accurate costing until one of one of our dentists has thoroughly assessed your condition.
HICAPS is Australia’s leading electronic claims & payments system, which offers patients the convenience of on-the-spot electronic claiming of health fund rebates. This means you can claim your health fund rebate that you may be eligible for, at the time of treatment.
You no longer have to go to your health fund to claim your rebate. The rebate amount will be automatically deducted from the overall treatment charge so you only pay the difference or “gap”.
All we ask is that you bring your current health fund membership card to every dental appointment.

Medicare generally does not cover dental treatment, but in some cases there is financial assistance available.
The Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) is a financial support scheme for basic dental services for children aged 2–17.
Dr Christopher Harris & Associates are able to advise you if your child is eligible for this scheme.

Private Health Funds
Harris Dental is recognised by all major health funds, which means our patients can claim a rebate for their dental treatment.
Please note, your health fund rebate is calculated according to the level of dental cover you have with your health insurer, and is not set by Dr Christopher Harris & Associates.
We have no control over these rebates, and strongly recommend you consult with your private health fund prior to commencing complex dental treatment, to confirm anticipated rebates for any proposed treatment.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Cardholders may be entitled to have dental care provided by Dr Christopher Harris & Associates, subsidised by the Department.
If you are eligible, please note you must bring your Gold Card to every dental appointment you attend.
